Music Ministry

Let's us Sing...musicnotes

The music ministry of Immanuel is open to the multitudes:

Youth or senior adult, virtuoso or beginner, new member or life-long member. We encourage all who have any musical interest to join us as we share and grow in the special fellowship that occurs when we, together, "make a joyful noise unto the Lord." Psalm 98:P4)

Vocal: Sanctuary Choir

The Sanchoirctuary Choir (9th grade through 90 years), provides special music to enhance the worship experience of our congregation.

The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. Labor Day through Pentecost. They sing at most of our 10 a.m. worship services and periodically at the 8:30 a.m. service. Child care is available during rehearsals when requested.

The choir presents an annual Christmas Cantata and in the spring, a musical work associated with the Lent and Easter season. They also provide anthems throughout the year, i.e., Christmas Even, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. They partner with other Ferguson churches to sing special music at a community worship service. We always welcome and encourage new members to join us as we lift our voices to God.

Women's and Men's Chorus

Within the Sanctuary Choir, the men and women have their own individual choruses. These ensembles rehears on Thursday evenings 7 to 7:30 p.m., prior to the full choir rehearsal. They sing for worship once or twice in the fall and again in the spring.

Sunday School Singers

This choir is for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. They rehearse from 9:30 to 10 a.m. each Sunday morning between the two worship services. The provide uplifting anthems that are fun for them to sing and inspirational for the congregation to hear. Their enthusiastic voices are full of praise and glory to God. Two volunteers from the Sanctuary Choir direct the choir.
